Students, teachers and other employees of private and government schools in Qatar are required to take a rapid antigen test no later than 48 hours before schools reopen in Qatar, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced on Wednesday. “If the result is positive, you must visit the nearest health.”

As per a Cabinet decision, students and staff are required to wear masks at all times on campus, the ministry said, calling on school management to ensure that the colour code on COVID-19 contact tracing app Ehteraz is “green” before allowing entry to employees.

The ministry said it “affirms its keenness and commitment to continuing the educational process and adapting to all circumstances, with a particular emphasis on the commitment to implement precautionary measures for students and administrative and teaching staff in accordance with the approved protocols.”

Also, they inspected the programmes and plans for the new academic year on the academic and administrative sides, reviewing challenges and obstacles, working to solve and overcoming them, and the participation of schools in the events and activities accompanying the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The meetings also reviewed various educational policies and administrative directives and their application to serve the educational process, especially with regard to the ethical charter, which aims to regulate the relationship between all parties to the educational process and urged them to adopt the positive ethical and behavioural policies and laws, stemming from the authenticity of Qatari society and the true Islamic religion.
