THE Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced the opening of registration of patients at Al Waab Health Centre, which is expected to open on September 16.
Residents of the areas of Waab Zone 55, Azizya, Freej Al Soudan 55 and 54, and Mehairja can avail the services of Al Waab Health Centre.
The new health centre is in a populated area and is well equipped to provide comprehensive healthcare services to people.
"Al Waab Health Centre is equipped with the necessary facilities to provide the highest level of service in primary healthcare," said Dr Samya al Abdulla, executive director of operations and senior consultant of family medicine at PHCC.
The centre has the capacity to handle 35,000 patients which will reduce the burden on neighbouring centres.
The centre hosts a women's wellness clinic, maternity and post-natal clinic, periodic immunisations, smoking cessation clinic and a travel clinic where people can go for vaccinations and health advice. The centre also has laboratories, pharmacy, radiology unit, dental clinic, physiotherapy unit, optometry, dietitian and smart health check-up.
The entire facility will follow a family medicine model, providing a patient-centred team approach.
Registration can be done via the website https://eservices.phcc.qa/location, or by visiting the health centre once it is opened.
