Fifty One East, Qatar recently hosted internationally recognised Filipino fashion designer Monique Lhuillier who showcased her Fall 2016 ready-to-wear and Bridal collections through a special fashion show held at the Lagoona Mall. The fashion show saw representatives from the media, fashion bloggers, fashion enthusiasts, designers as well as a lot of Qatari men and women who adored Lhuillier's designs.
Lhuillier is one of the world's icons in the fashion world, famous for her bridal, ready-to-wear and accessories. Her company is considered one of the leading fashion houses in design, quality and creativity, with a passion for creating collections that are both feminine and modern.
This is Lhuillier's second visit to Doha and her collection has been well received by locals and expatriates alike.
Her Fall 2016 ready to wear collection could be described as diverse, easy, elegant, refined and almost ageless. They displayed a diverse and rich colour palette of cherry, teal blue, rose pink and basil that was contrasted by caramel and dark amber tones.
The appealing colours and designs were fit for the modern woman. They were elegant dresses with lots of fluidity. The collection featured beautiful bright-coloured kaftans that could be worn during the day, as well as evening wear that provoked femininity, fascination and glamour all at the same time. The evening wear paid keen attention to intricate beading, flower petals, and sequins making them comfortable yet sophisticated.
Lhuillier's bridal collection showcased a natural sense of style. With almost 20 years in the wedding business, it is clear that Lhuillier is an expert on all things bridal fashion. The eight wedding gowns that were presented seemed fantasy inspired with intricate beading and embellishments and layers of tulle. The designs were super feminine, elegantly ornamented with flowers, sweetheart necks, delicate floral embroidery, every piece had a special detail. Lhuillier's bridal collection is what bridal fantasies are made of.
