Berlin: Germany winger Jonas Hofmann has agreed a new contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach to stay until 2025, the Bundesliga club said on Monday. Hofmann, 30, joined Gladbach from Borussia Dortmund in 2016 and his previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season. “Jonas has become one of the faces of the team during his six and a half years with us,” said sporting director Roland Virkus. “He has undergone a tremendous development here - first to become a regular starter and a leader for us, and then also cementing himself within the Germany national team. “We are very happy that we have been able to convince Jonas to remain at Borussia.” Hofmann has played 182 times for Gladbach, registering 36 goals and 40 assists.
