DOHA: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Family and Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF), held a community event, the fencing festival for community categories and guests of Qatar from Palestine, at the QFF training hall at Maamoura area on Wednesday.
The one-day festival brought together several amateurs, game lovers, and Qatar community members, alongside 20 participants from Qatar's guests from Palestine. They all enjoyed the festival in an atmosphere full of sportsmanship and social connection.
The QOC aimed to organize this event to promote sport for all concepts, and to increase communication between Qatari community categories and residents.
In a post-event statement, the Event Director, Abdulla Eisa Al Harami said the sport has become an effective tool in achieving sustainable development, promoting peace, inscribing the spirit of tolerance, and ensuring mutual respect for all.
He added that Doha has proven to be the capital of global sport and that it will keep taking centre stage to bring nations together through sport, as well as to encourage community categories to develop their sports skills.
