Qatar has stressed its full support for the Libyan political track, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and all peaceful solutions that maintain unity, stability, and sovereignty of Libya; and achieve the aspiration of its fraternal people for security, peace, development, and prosperity.
In the State of Qatar’s statement during the interactive dialogue on the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on providing technical assistance and capacity building to improve the human rights situation in Libya, Third Secretary at the Department of Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Abdullah Nasser Al Khalifa, voiced Qatar’s condemnation of violations committed against the fraternal people of Libya.
He urged all Libyan parties to respect their obligations under international laws and agreements, avoid escalation, resort to the voice of wisdom, overcome differences through dialogue, give priority to the national interest, create appropriate conditions for holding national presidential and parliamentary elections in all parts of Libya, promote transitional justice and national reconciliation, and ensure accountability for all violations committed against Libyans. page 4
