QNAPhnom PenhDeputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Thursday met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foreign Ministers’ meeting, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations, the latest developments in the nuclear agreement talks, and the situation in Afghanistan, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common interest. In a tweet, the FM said, “Pleased to meet my colleague @SecBlinken, US Secretary of State, today in #Cambodia, on the sidelines of the #ASEAN meetings, where we discussed ways to develop bilateral relations. We also discussed latest developments in the nuclear deal talks & the situation in Afghanistan.”For his part, the US Secretary of State said, “Qatar is a partner to deal with so many of the most urgent challenges that we face around the world. This is a partnership, a relationship the United States values tremendously.”He added, “Our discussions are evidence of the very close partnership between Qatar and the US. We also had discussions on regional and international affairs including Afghanistan, Iran and other.”
