Wyndham Grand Regency claimed the 15th Premier Cricket League Inter-Hotel Tournament, outclassing Diplomatic Club by 35 runs in the final at the West Bay Grounds.
This was the fourth title for the winners since 2013. The event was hosted Marriott Marquis City Center Hotel to promote sportsman's spirit and healthy lifestyle among the hotel fraternity of Qatar.
Batting first, Wyndham made a challenging 144 in 20 overs with Dilan Randimal hitting a brisk 54. Mohamed Anas smashed a blistering 33 to boost the innings. Pram bowled well to grab four for 23 in his four-over quota.
Diplomatic Club were rattled during the chase and were reeling at nine down for 70 in 13 overs. However, their last pair put up a spirited resistance and added 39 runs to delay the inevitable. Nadeem was credited with the highest individual score of 25, while Nipolyean snapped three wickets and Musharraf picked a brace.
Randimal was adjudged the man of the final for his entertaining half-century.
"It is an honour to be a part of an event that promotes team-building within Qatar's hotel community, while incorporating a bit of friendly competition. Winning the cup for the fourth time is really commendable," said Chander Raina, captain of the Wyndham team.
