HIA Customs Department foils drug smuggling attempt

DOHA: The Hamad International Airport (HIA)Customs Department has foiled an attempt to smuggle 1,400 pregabalinnarcotic pills, hidden inside a luggage box belonging to a traveller coming to the country.

Following the suspicion ofa vigilant customs officialthe box was examined with an X-ray machine before transferring it for manual inspection, when the prohibited substance was found, the Qatar Customs said.
