Al Duhail and Al Arabi handball teams scored exciting wins on Wednesday to set up final meeting for Qatar Cup.
Al Duhail defeated reigning league champions Al Rayyan 35-24 (HT 18-15). Al Rayyan’s Ilder Mosovic and Youssef Ben Ali, each scored six goals yet Al Duhail, coached by Serbian Goran Djokic, stayed on course for a cool win. The Red Knights’ Japanese international Chinoski Tokoda, Amin Nooreldien, and Fasco Silvalivitch each scored four goals, while pivot Rafael Copote scored three.
In the second semi-final, Al Arabi edged Al Ahli 30-28 in a thriller after leading 14-13 at half time. The final is on May 26.
