QTerminals, a leading port and terminals operator, has successfully concluded the first season of the QTerminals Cricket League (QTCL), a cricket tournament organized by Hamad Port for Qatar’s vibrant shipping community.

The inaugural event took place on May 4 and 11, 2024, drawing in large crowds. This year marked the first time the event was opened to the broader shipping community in Qatar, having previously been exclusive to Hamad Port staff members.

The QTCL featured 10 teams from various companies within the shipping industry competing across 21 matches over two days. Families also had the opportunity to enjoy the festivities, which included a dedicated kids’ inflatable play area, competitive foosball tables, and snack stations.

The final day of the QTCL on May 11 was a culmination of the excitement and anticipation built over the week. It featured the highly anticipated semifinals match, with GWC Arrows challenging QT Navigators and Milaha Warriors competing against QT Mavericks.

In the semifinals, GWC Arrows and Milaha Warriors triumphed and advanced to the finals. The championship match saw GWC Arrows ultimately clinch the title, becoming the champions of QTCL Season 1, with Milaha Warriors taking the runner-up spot and QT Mavericks securing third place.

QTerminals is deeply committed to enhancing community engagement by actively promoting sports. The company proudly supports a variety of high-profile events, including a three-year partnership with the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix from 2023 to 2025. It is also the long-term title sponsor of the QTerminals Classics Squash Tournament and the official gold sponsor of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open.

Additionally, it holds the title of official sponsor for The Minister of Transport Padel Championship Cup and is the silver sponsor for the Qatar-UAE Super Cup, Super Shield. Recently, QTerminals has expanded its sports involvement by becoming the official training partner of Feyenoord Club in Rotterdam, a partnership that will span from 2024 to 2027.

Jesper Rishoj Pedersen, Managing Director at Hamad Port, expressed his enthusiasm for the league’s success: “At QTerminals, we are actively involved in promoting sports as part of our broader commitment to Qatar’s national vision and our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program.
