DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a cautionary advisory for Thursday, indicating potentially turbulent weather patterns across both inshore and offshore regions of Qatar.

In its daily weather report, the department forecasts scattered clouds accompanied by a likelihood of thundery rain in southern areas during the initial hours of the day. Residents can expect relatively hot daytime temperatures with occasional dust, escalating to blowing dust in certain locales. Additionally, the department warns of the possibility of thundery rain in southern regions, along with strong winds and diminished horizontal visibility at various locations.

Offshore conditions are anticipated to be partly cloudy, with isolated rain showers followed by increasing cloud cover later in the day. Mariners are advised to be vigilant as strong winds and rough seas are expected, potentially reaching heights of up to 12 feet.

Wind speeds are projected to range from northwesterly to northerly, with velocities between 15 to 25 KT inshore, gusting up to 35 KT intermittently. Offshore, winds are expected to be slightly stronger, ranging from 18 to 28 KT, with similar gusts.

Visibility is forecasted to be reduced to 4 - 9 km or less at times inshore, while offshore conditions may also experience diminished visibility within the same range.

The sea state is expected to be moderate to rough, with waves reaching heights of 3 - 5 ft inshore and escalating to 5 - 9 ft offshore, potentially surging to 12 ft in certain areas.

Residents and maritime interests are advised to exercise caution and stay updated with the latest weather bulletins to ensure safety amidst the anticipated adverse weather conditions.
