The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with Alfardan Sports Motors, Qatar’s Alfa Romeo dealership, has announced the recall of the Alfa Romeo Tonale, 2024 model, as the roof pressure limiter may not operate as specified.

In the worst-case scenario, this could result in potential injury to the customer’s hand or arm if they were between the glass and the frame during the roof closing process.

The MoCI, in cooperation with Porsche Centre Doha, Al Boraq Automobiles Co, Qatar’s Porsche dealership, has also recalled of Porsche Taycan, 2020-2023 models, over a possible short circuit within the battery modules during the vehicle’s service life under certain circumstances. This could lead to thermal events and later to a fire in the vehicle.

Additionally, the ministry, in cooperation with Alfardan Premier Motors, Qatar’s Land Rover dealership, has announced the recall of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2023 model, over a possible defect in the right-hand tailgate and body-mounted rear lamps, which may experience failure due to water ingress.

The ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.

The ministry said it would coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.
