DOHA: Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain HEDr Pedro Sanchez has appreciated the mediation role played by Qatar in order to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing Spain’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace in the region.
The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain said in a post on the X platform that he made a phone call with His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which he expressed his sincere appreciation for the mediation role played by Qatar in order to reach a ceasefire and free the hostages.
He added, "I also shared with His Highness the Amir my concern regarding a possible Israeli operation in Rafah," stressing that Spain is committed to supporting efforts aimed at achieving a just and sustainable peace in the region, through a two-state solution and mutual recognition of Palestine.
