LondoncTypeface:> Armand Lauriente ended champions Inter Milan’s 28-game unbeaten Serie A run as Sassuolo completed an improbable double to keep alive their survival hopes. Lauriente’s 20th-minute strike clinched a precious 1-0 win over a much-changed Inter at the Citta del Tricolore, but only after Davide Ballardini’s men scrapped their way to the finishing line with a performance of real character. It was just their seventh victory of the campaign and remarkably their second over Simone Inzaghi’s men, who remain 19 points clear of derby rivals AC Milan at the top of the table with a 20th title already secured after their 2-1 success at the San Siro on September 27. Sassuolo find themselves two points adrift of safety with three games to go, but have given themselves a genuine chance of escaping the drop. (PA Media/dpa)
