Rome: AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli sidestepped questions about his future as he focuses on securing the runners-up spot in Serie A.

Pioli’s position has come under intense scrutiny following an underwhelming season and he has recently been linked with a switch to rivals Napoli. Milan sit second in the standings and are already assured of Champions League qualification but they are well adrift of runaway champions Inter Milan, who clinched the Scudetto with a 2-1 victory in last month’s derby. Pioli’s men are five points clear of third-placed Juventus ahead of beginning their final four league fixtures on Sunday at home to Genoa. “I am absolutely not thinking about my future,” the 58-year-old coach told a press conference on the back of supporter protests and the Napoli speculation. “We will be thinking about the league alone until May 25, about the last four games. “There is a desire to play the best game possible and win, to close down a definitive second-place finish. “It is true that outside there is talk about everything except the last four games but we are focused on these and we want to do well. The future will be discussed at the end of the season.” Milan have gone five games without victory in all competitions to increase pressure on Pioli. (PA Media/dpa)
