The Department of Public Health at the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at Qatar University (QU), in collaboration with Al-Andalus Primary School for Girls, organised an interactive educational event titled ‘Journey to Planet Health’.

The event was jointly organised by the Department of Public Health and students of the Foundations of Health Education course aimed to enrich primary school students with general health information.

Under the supervision of Zahraa Beydoun, Walaa Kayyal, and Public Health students, the event received an enthusiastic response, with approximately 150–200 students from Al-Andalus Primary School for Girls participating in interactive learning experiences covering four main health topics: hygiene, oral health, physical activity and nutrition.

Students engaged in a series of interactive educational booths, participating in activities such as proper handwashing techniques, interactive dental hygiene activities, and fun physical exercises. The event also featured games focusing on interactive presentations, activities and competitions.

The event emphasised QU’s commitment to excellence in public health education, engagement and community service. It also provided a hands-on learning opportunity for university students, giving them practical experience in organising and delivering community-oriented health education. Additionally, it highlighted Al Andalus Primary School for Girls’ dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing from a young age.
