DOHA: The Meteorology Department issued a cautionary notice, highlighting anticipated weather patterns for Saturday. Inshore conditions are expected to be characterized by daytime heat and intermittent cloud cover, with scattered rainfall likely towards the north of the region. Meanwhile, offshore areas are projected to experience scattered to partly cloudy skies, with a possibility of thundery showers and strong winds, particularly in the northern sector.

The department emphasized the likelihood of thundery rain accompanied by robust winds and rough seas, primarily in the northern waters. Inshore wind speeds are forecasted to range between southeasterly to southwesterly, blowing at 5 to 15 knots, occasionally gusting up to 20 knots. Offshore, wind direction will predominantly be southeasterly to southwesterly, maintaining a speed of 5 to 15 knots but potentially reaching gusts of up to 30 knots during thundery conditions in the northern regions.

Visibility is anticipated to vary between 4 to 9 kilometers inland, whereas offshore visibility may diminish to 4 to 9 kilometers or less during thundery episodes. Sea conditions are predicted to escalate, with inshore waves ranging from 1 to 3 feet, surging to 5 feet amidst thundery weather. Offshore, wave heights are projected to reach 2 to 4 feet under normal circumstances, soaring to 10 feet during thundery rain occurrences.

Residents and seafarers are advised to remain vigilant and exercise caution, particularly those venturing into offshore waters. The Meteorology Department urges individuals to stay updated on weather alerts and adhere to safety protocols to mitigate potential risks associated with the anticipated adverse weather conditions.
