The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF) announced the details for the final stage of the Amir Cup and the signing of sponsorship agreement with Al Attiyah Motors for the tournament on Thursday.

QBF Secretary General Saadoun Al Kuwari revealed the signing of contract with Al Attiyah Motors & Trading Company as official sponsors for His Highness the Amir Cup Basketball for 2023-24, where the company is also offering a car as a prize to be won by fans during the final.

Also present at the announcement representing Al Attiyah Motors & Trading Co were Hossam Abu Shadi, Kia Brand Manager, and Bassam Al Taweel, executive from the company, Hani Mohammed, Service Manager, along with Dr. Khaled Al Qahtani, media official of QBF, and several federation members.

The QBF Secretary-General expressed his delight in collaborating with various entities who are sponsoring the prestigious Amir Cup. He commended the significant role played by companies and institutions in their participation and valuable contribution towards the federation’s projects aimed at developing and promoting the game.

Al Kuwari expressed gratitude to Al Attiyah Motors & Trading Company for their sponsorship of the prestigious basketball tournaments, which has had a positive impact. He emphasized that they will continue to actively engage with multiple parties. The secretary of the federation added that participation, excellence, and inclusivity are integral to their plan for the game’s development and expansion. Consequently, they will strive diligently to achieve their goals, establish partnerships, and attain further successes.

Saadoun Al Kuwari mentioned that a draw for the winner of the car will be held soon after the Amir Cup final.

Hossam Abu Shadi, Kia Brand Manager, commended the collaboration with the Qatar Basketball Federation, expressing pride in sponsoring the prestigious tournament, “His Highness the Amir Cup”.

He expressed gratitude to the Federation’s management for the fruitful partnership aimed at enhancing sports participation in Qatar, particularly in basketball.

Hossam announced a car prize draw for the audience present at the stadium, hinting at upcoming surprises to be revealed in due course.

The semi-final matches of the His Highness Amir Cup Men’s Basketball Cup for the 2023-2024 season are scheduled to commence on Friday. Al Arabi and Al Ahli will kick off the competition at 5pm, followed by a match between Al Rayyan and Al Sadd at 7pm at the Al Gharafa Club hall.

The semi-finals will follow a “play-off” format with five matches on May 4, 7, 11, 14, and 18, where the two teams with three wins out of five will advance to the final round, set for a single match on May 24.
