DOHA: Public Prosecutor HE Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi hasissued an order to refer nine employees to the competent criminal court to punish them for the crimes charged against them.
The Public Prosecution stated that it had initiated investigations with the defendants who had previously been arrested in coordination with the Audit Bureau after they included data for the hours of attendance and departure from work with a government agency and that data was found to be fictitious and unreal. During these hours the employees wereoutside of their workplace, and they received wages for those hours that were not due to them, in violation of the laws and regulations of their employer.
The Public Prosecution’s investigations revealed that one of them recorded their attendance and departure from their workplace using the work card of each of the accused, which appears in the official statements approved by the entity that they are present at their work.
The Public Prosecution explained, "Thus, the defendants have committed crimes of seizing public funds and forging and using official documents, as these acts constitute felonies punishable by imprisonment and a fine by law."
