DOHA: The Meteorological Department has issued a stern warning regarding imminent severe weather conditions, urging residents and sailors to exercise caution. Thunderstorms coupled with potent winds and reduced visibility are expected to impact both coastal areas and the open sea.

On the coastline, weather patterns are anticipated to be partly cloudy to overcast with intermittent heavy rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder. Strong northeasterly to northwesterly winds are predicted, ranging from 18 to 28 knots, with gusts reaching up to 45 knots in certain regions. Visibility along the coast may decrease significantly, dropping to as low as two kilometers during thunderstorms.

Similarly, at sea, conditions are forecasted to be cloudy with scattered thunderstorms and high waves. Northeasterly to northwesterly winds are expected to prevail, clocking in between 20 to 30 knots, with gusts intensifying up to 50 knots during thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to remain vigilant as wave heights are projected to range between 6 to 10 feet, escalating to 14 feet amidst thunderous weather.

The highest temperature expected in Doha today is 29 degrees Celsius, adding to the complexity of the weather dynamics.

Authorities are urging individuals to stay updated on weather advisories and to take necessary precautions, especially those venturing out to sea. Stay tuned for further updates as the situation progresses.
