In an attractive ceremony at the Ideal Indian School (IIS), the Sudent Councils of Boys’, Girls’ and Junior Sections for the year 2024-25 were sworn into their respective offices by Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb. Heads of Sections and Departments were present at the event. The new council members received their badges and pledged to uphold the school’s values, demonstrating honesty, responsibility, and dedication to serving the student body.
The members of the Student Councils are, Boys’ Section: Head Boy - Gouri Shankar, Asst. Head Boy - Safin Tarik Parkar, Cultural Secretary - Ananth. C, Asst. Cultural Secretary - Ihsan Mohammed Shameer, Sports Secretary - Mohammed Affan, Asst. Sports Secretary - Yedhu Krishna, Head Prefect - Dafydd, Head Scout - Bhavith Babu, and Asst. Head Scout - Chirag Uday Kumar Suvarna.
Girls’ Section: Head Girl - Shreya Saravanan, Asst. Head Girl - Venika Anil, Cultural Secretary - Swathi Gireesh Kumar, Sports Secretary - Lehen Shah, Asst. Cultural Secretary - Nakshatra, Asst. Sports Secretary - Saida Nada, Head Prefect - Leya Maria Cecil, Head Guide - Fathima Zia C C, and Asst. Head Guide - Sahana.
Additionally, Prefects, House Captains, Vice Captains and Sports Captains from the four Houses of Boys, Girls, and Junior Sections were also sworn into their positions. Activity Coordinators, House Coordinators and Housemistresses were inducted as well. Uma Maheswari, Nafisha Sultana and Neema Nixon serve as the Activity Coordinators of Junior, Girls and Boys Sections respectively.
During his keynote speech, Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb commended and congratulated the newly elected members, stressing the importance of collaboration among council members. He encouraged them to lead by example and uphold principles of honesty and integrity, highlighting the potential for their efforts to positively impact not only the school community but also beyond.
Shreya Saravanan, Head Girl, welcomed the gathering, and Head Boy Gouri Shankar proposed the vote of thanks. The School Choir presented the School Anthem, and Masarath Jehan served as the programme’s emcee.
