DOHA: The Qatar Cricket Association was named as the Asia Regional Winner of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Development Initiative of the Year.
In its statement, the ICC said that this award honours the Qatar Cricket Association's distinguished efforts and dedication to promoting and developing the game in the region, indicating that the association's commitment to nurturing talent at all levels was exemplary.
The statement added that the Qatar Cricket Association's programmes and innovative initiatives have contributed significantly to the growth of cricket in Qatar, receiving widespread appreciation from the cricket community.
The ICC said that the award is a testament to the vision, hard work, and passion put in in service of the game, and that it is also a well-deserved recognition of the Qatar Cricket Association's significant contributions to the sport.
