To jump start the celebration of the 16th Founding Anniversary of the Beats and Bytes (BnB) Dancers, one of the series of activities mobilised for 2024 is a special Pop-Up Class scheduled this Friday, on May 3, at LIFE+ Health Club Jaidah Square, Level 1, Airport Road, Qatar.
The class will be led by dance instructors and Co Founders of the Calgary Hip-Hop Dance Crew & Founders of The Masses, Kyle Allen Collado and Angellyn Gail Gutierrez who are both based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
This Pop-Up class, ‘Calgary YYC to Doha’, is designed to inspire and empower seasoned dancers or beginners looking to unleash their inner talent.According to the event organizers, this initiative will provide an unforgettable dance experience to the participants, with a day loaded with fun, music, and unforgettable dance moves with Calgary’s top instructors. It will keep them energized, confident, and ready to take on the world with newfound skills.
Kyle Collado
Kyle Allen Collado is an alumnus of BnB Dancers and has been living in Canada since 2016. He has connected with the dance community in Canada and joined a program called, ‘The Masses’, which implores the belief in the pursuit of loving dance for the sake of dance itself and not only because of performing on stage with artists or joining competitions. The program paves way to all those things that come after and those are just addition to truly loving dance.
In his visit to Doha, Collado aims to train dancers about choreography and guide them to level up their dance skills. “Doha is a special place for me. To give back to the dance community, I want to do the best I can to give the right knowledge, information and environment to the dancers who truly love dance,” he said.
Angellyn Gutierrez
Angellyn Gail Gutierrez is a Resident Faculty and Dance Instructor at the Dance Code Calgary and currently a student at Mount Royal University (MRU).She advocates for the representation of female dancers, artists, and choreographers to be prominently seen and valued in the dance community. She specializes in Popping, Open Choreography and Performance.
Both Allen and Gutierrez are also founding members of the Calgary Hip-Hop Dance Crew and Co-Founders of The Masses Dance Studio in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
