DOHA: Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands HEMark Rutte has expressed his country’s support for the important and effective role played by Qatar in reducing all forms of escalation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, and avoiding the expansion of the conflict in the region.
The Dutch Prime Minister said in a post on the social media platform X that he spoke by phone on Thursday with His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani about the situation in the Gaza Strip.
He added: "I expressed my strong support for the important role played by the State of Qatar in searching for a solution to this conflict. There is now a need for a ceasefire as quickly as possible, which must then lead to a sustainable solution. It is necessary to allow the entry of more humanitarian aid to Gaza and the release of hostages, and making every effort to prevent regional escalation.”
