Qatar’s equestrian (showjumping) is participating at the Youth GCC Games, currently under way in the UAE. Rider Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani carried the Qatari flag during the official opening ceremony at the Games. The Qatari national equestrian team delegation includes riders Sheikh Mohammed bin Jassim Al Thani, Khalifa Abdullah Al Khalidi, Sultan Salem Al Nuaimi, Ghanem Nasser Al Qadi, and Saad Ahmed Al Saad. The equestrian team seeks to provide good levels and achieve podium finish having prepared well through the Qatar Equestrian Tour Championship (Longines Hathab). The Qatar equestrian delegation is headed by Abdullah Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Qatari Equestrian Teams. The Games are witnessing 3,500 athletes from the six GCC nations competing in 25 individual and team sports.
