KATHMANDU: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrivedin the city of Kathmandu, on a state visit to friendly Nepal, as part of a tour that included the Republic of the Philippines and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
At the forefront of welcoming His Highness the Amir at Tribhuvan International Airport was President of Nepal HE Ram Chandra Poudel.
Also at the reception were HE Ramshai Prasad Yadav, Vice President, HE Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister, HE Devraj Ghimire, Speaker of the House of Representatives, HE Narayan Shrestha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Shakki Bahadur, Minister of Energy and Water Resources, HE Mishal bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nepal, HE Naresh Bikram Dhakal, Ambassador of Nepal to the State, a number of senior officials in the Government of Nepal, and members of the Qatari Embassy.
Upon his arrival, His Highness was given an official reception, and during the ceremony, 21 artillery shots were fired to welcome His Highness.
