Left-handed Yashasvi Jaiswal’s ton guided Rajasthan Royals to a victory over Mumbai Indians by nine wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday.

Chasing a total of 180 runs, the Rajasthan openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal started with a bang, scoring 61 runs in the powerplay.

The RR franchise scored 61/0 in the powerplay with Jos Buttler (28*) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (31*) unbeaten.

Rajasthan-based franchise lost their first wicket when Buttler was dismissed after scoring 35 runs in 25 balls when the team score was 74.

Jaiswal completed his fifty in the 10th over.

After Buttler’s dismissal, the team skipper Sanju Samson came out to bat. He along with Jaiswal brought up the team’s hundred in 10.3 overs.

The Rajasthan side completed the 150-run mark in the 15th over. Three overs later, both of the batters, Jaiswal and Samson completed their 100-run partnership.

In the 19th over, Jaiswal completed his century as he took a single on the bowling of Tilak Varma.

Jaiswal and Samson’s unbeaten partnership of 109 runs guided the Rajasthan to their seventh victory out of their eighth match in the ongoing 17th edition of IPL.

Jaiswal (104) and Samson (38) remained unbeaten on the crease as the team cruised to a 9-wicket victory.

Earlier, MI skipper Hardik Pandya elected to bat first.

MI didn’t have the start that they wanted as they lost both their openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan very early.

Rohit was dismissed after scoring 6 runs and Kishan was dismissed without opening his account.

After two quick wickets, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma were on the crease. Both batters were able to put on a partnership of just 14 runs as Surya was dismissed after scoring just 10 runs.

MI were 20/3 in 3.1 overs as all-rounder Mohammad Nabi came to bat in the middle along with Tilak.

Tilak and Nabi were able to add just 32 runs to the total as Nabi was sent back to the dressing room after scoring 23 runs with the help of two fours and a six.

After Nabi’s dismissal, left-hand batter Nehal Wadheraput on a brilliant partnership of 99 runs with Tilak as the visitors lost the fifth wicket at the score of 151 runs.

Wadhera was dismissed for 49 which included three fours and four sixes in his innings.

The next four wickets of the MI side fell inside 36 runs.

Hardik Pandya was dismissed after scoring just 10 runs when the team score was 170 and then the side lost the wickets of Tilak at the score of 176 who was dismissed after playing a marvellous innings of 65 runs which was laced with five boundaries and three maximums.

The pick of the bowlers for the hosts was Sandeep Sharma, who snapped five wickets conceding 18 runs in his four-over spell.

Scores: Rajasthan Royals 183 for 1 (Jaiswal 104*) beat Mumbai Indians 179 for 9 (Tilak 65, Sandeep 5-18) by 9 wickets.
