The Ministry of Labour (MoL), in collaboration with the Building and Wood Workers’ International (BWI), organised a Migrant Community Leaders’ Forum on Monday. Under the title ‘Sustaining Dialogue and Cooperation’, the initiative aimed to promote constructive dialogue to enhance the work environment.
The forum was attended by Shaikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, assistant undersecretary for Migrant Labour Affairs at the MoL, Ambet Yuson, general secretary of the BWI, along with representatives of international labour unions and federations, and representatives of migrant worker communities in Qatar.
The forum highlighted the MoL’s efforts in enhancing and protecting workers’ rights through educational campaigns about labour legislation, dispute resolution methods, and the role of joint labour committees in improving the work environment, as well as the mechanisms for inspecting work sites.
