DHAKA: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrivedin Dhaka, on a state visit to the friendly People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Upon his arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, His Highness the Amir was greeted by His Excellency President Mohammad Shahabuddin, President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Also at the reception were Muzammil ul Haq, Member of Parliament and Minister at the Ministry of War and Liberation Affairs, Asaduzzaman Khan, Member of Parliament and Minister at the Ministry of Interior, Dr Hassan Mahmood, Member of Parliament and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasr al-Hamid, Member of Parliament and Minister of State and Minister of Expatriates Welfare and Employment in Abroad, Saree bin Ali Al Qahtani, UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh, Muhammad Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE, a number of senior officials in the Bangladeshi government, a number of ambassadors of Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries, and members of the Qatari Embassy.
Upon his arrival, His Highness the Amir was given an official reception.
