DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a cautionary forecast for Monday, indicating a mixed bag of weather conditions across the region. Residents are advised to brace themselves for potentially volatile weather patterns characterized by thundery rain and strong winds.

In its daily weather report, the Department of Meteorology stated that inshore regions can expect moderate to relatively hot temperatures during the day, accompanied by blowing dust in certain areas. Scattered clouds are anticipated, with a possibility of rainfall, which may escalate into thundery conditions at times. The warning extends to offshore areas as well, where partly cloudy skies and scattered rain are predicted, with the likelihood of thunderstorms.

Wind speeds are expected to be southeasterly, ranging from 8 to 20 knots inland and 10 to 20 knots offshore, with gusts reaching up to 30 knots during thundery periods. Visibility may be significantly reduced during thundery rain, with inshore visibility ranging from 4 to 9 kilometers and offshore visibility between 4 to 8 kilometers.

Sea conditions are also expected to be affected, with wave heights ranging from 1 to 3 feet inshore, rising to 5 feet during thunderstorms. Offshore, wave heights are forecasted to be between 3 to 5 feet, particularly in areas experiencing thunder rain.

Residents and seafarers are urged to exercise caution and stay updated on weather advisories as they plan their activities for Monday. Precautionary measures should be taken to ensure safety, particularly in light of the potential hazards posed by thundery rain and strong winds.

The Department of Meteorology will continue to monitor and provide updates on the evolving weather situation to ensure the well-being and safety of the public and marine community.
