DOHA: Qatar has announced the arrival of 20 Russian and Ukrainian families, including 37 children, to Doha under an integrated programme aimed at providing health care and comprehensive support to these families and their children, as part of its ongoing mediation efforts to reunite families separated by the Russian and Ukrainian conflict.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Qatar is hosting these families from April 18 to 27, to receive medical, psychological and social support. It also indicated that the programme represents an important step in helping families in the recovery process, and is designed to provide comprehensive support that meets immediate needs and also lays the foundation for long-term healing and integration.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the programme helps promote health recovery and stability, by focusing on the mental, physical and social health of each family member, which enables families to rebuild their lives with confidence and safety. It also indicated in this regard that the programme is implemented in partnership with representatives of family membersfrom the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

The ministry stressed that Qatar, as a mediator, will remain committed to protecting the well-being of all civilians affected by the conflict, as well as its firm commitment to continuing mediation efforts, with a focus on reuniting children with their families and ensuring their safety and care.
