DOHA:Light rain is expected next week in Qatar.
According to the latest update of the numerical forecast model, there are initial indications during the beginning of next week of a weather condition that may lead to the formation of clouds and light rain at places in Qatar, the Qatar Meteorology Department has said.
The Met office said weather inshore on Thursday would be misty to foggy at places and warned of poor horizontal visibility at places.Offshore, it would be hazy and misty to foggy at places later, the report added.
Many parts of Qatar received rain, accompanied by thunder and strong winds, on Tuesday, as some countries in the region witnessed more rains and flash floods.
The total amount of rain reached 45ml at places in northern areas of the country and the rain was accompanied by hail and strong wind exceeding 20 knots, the QMD said.
Early this week, heavy rains and flash floods swept parts of the Gulf region, killing at least 18 people in Oman and causing travel disruption in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
