Pakistan’s globetrotter biker Muhammad Iqbal Ghangla, who has been travelling on bicycle and motorbike since 1991 to promote tourism and soft image of Pakistan, received warm welcome from Pakistani community members and different organisations during his maiden visit to Qatar.

Ghangla, who hails from Multan in Pakistan, arrived in Doha on March 29 and was hosted by Syed Mujahid Abbas Bukhari, an active member of Pakistan professional community in Qatar.

During his tour to Qatar, he was accorded a warm welcome by people of other nationalities as bikers praised his courage and prayed for the success for his journey.

He visited the Pakistan embassy and shared his adventurous story with Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar HE Muhemmed Aejaz.

Abou Faisal from Moto Clinic Qatar and Gold Wing Motor Bikers Club Qatar invited him presenting him precious gifts and souvenirs. Ghangla invited Qatar-based bikers to visit Pakistan as well. Khalid presented a club badge to him.

He also attended community iftar dinners hosted by Modern Asian Restaurant, Pistachio Restaurant, and New Shan-e-Lahore as a special guest. He also attended a sohour held at Spice and Sizzles Restaurant.

Ghangla has many achievements to his credit. He has travelled around 700,000km in Pakistan including around 8,000km on bicycle. His current tour started from Multan, Pakistan in December 2023 with an aim to explore and showcase the beauty of Gulf countries on his social media platforms. His trip includes Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and Qatar.

Ghangla Iqbal has the credit of travelling 16,400km in Saudi Arabia in 60 days where he performed Umrah on motorbike thrice.

Speaking to Qatar Tribune, Ghangla thanked community members and bikers of different nationalities for according warm welcome to him during his maiden visit to Qatar.

“I would like to invite bikers and tourists around the world to come to Pakistan and see the beauty of our country and travel on motorbikes within Pakistan especially the northern areas. I am moving ahead with fond memories of my visit to Qatar,” remarked Ghangla

Sharing his future plans, he said: “I want to build a soft image of Pakistan and Pakistanis around the world and want to go on a world tour to see different countries.”

He has a history of attending local and international tour events including ‘Welcome Pakistan Tour’ (30 Days) in 2012, ‘Peaceful Pakistan Tour’ (55 Days) in 2014 when he travelled 20,000km, ‘Pakistan-Iran-Turkey Friendship Tour’ (40 Days) in 2015 in collaboration with Motor Club of Pakistan having five cars and two motorbikes, ‘Pakistan Around the World’ (Season 1, 53 Days), ‘Pakistan-Iran- Turkey Tour’ in 2022 travelling 19,700km, ‘Pakistan Around the World’ (Season 2, 100 days), and ‘Pakistan-Iran-UAE-KSA-Bahrain-Qatar’ covering 21,000km.

He has also been attending bikers conference and rally in UAE ‘Hub Sheikh Zayed’ from 2018 to 2024. He travelled around 5,000km in UAE during these five years.
