DOHA: Residents and seafarers have been advised to brace themselves as the Meteorological Department issueda warning of impending thunderstorms and strong winds along the coast and at sea.

According to the department's latest bulletin, thunderstorms are anticipated in coastal areas, accompanied by powerful winds at noon. Moreover, thunderstorms, accompanied by robust winds and high waves, are expected in the open sea during the same period.

On Saturday, the weather along the coast and at sea is forecastto be partly cloudy, with scattered clouds and a possibility of isolated rainfall, potentially escalating into thunderstorms at noon.

Winds along the coast are predicted to blow from the northwesterly to northeasterly direction, ranging between 5 and 15 knots, with gusts potentially reaching 25 knots during thunderous downpours. At sea, wind speeds are expected to be northwesterly to northeasterly, ranging from 7 to 17 knots, with gusts reaching 23 knots during thunderstorms.

Horizontal visibility along the coast and at sea is projected to be between 5 and 9 kilometers, diminishing to 3 kilometers or less during thunderstorms.

Wave heights along the coast are estimated to fluctuate between one and three feet, surging up to 5 feet during thunderous rains. Meanwhile, at sea, wave heights are expected to range from two to four feet, escalating to 7 feet during thunderstorms.

In Doha, the highest expected temperatureis 31 degrees Celsius.

Residents and maritime operators are urged to exercise caution and stay updated on further advisories as the situation progresses.
