The Ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to the State of Qatar, HE Dr Ali Salehabadi, hascommended the humanitarian aid being provided by Qatar to the people of Gaza Strip and its untiring efforts to mediate to stop the war on Gaza, Palestine.
He made the statement while addressing an iftar dinner he hosted at Hotel Sheraton Grand Doha to mark the International Quds Day to support the Palestinian people and the freedom of Al Quds. Present on the occasion among the guests were a number of dignitaries including ambassadors of different countries.
HE Dr Ali Salehabadi said that since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza, the brotherly State of Qatar has used its immense political and material resources to help the oppressed people of Palestine. In addition to mediating efforts for a temporary ceasefire and stopping the war, it has made great efforts to send humanitarian aid.
The envoy of Islamic Republic of Iran said that in the foreign policy of his country, the issue of Palestine is regarded as the most important in the Islamic world since the victory of the Iranian Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Imam Khomeini.
Since then, every year on last Friday of holy month of Ramadan, Muslims in different countries protest against the occupation by the Zionist regime with marches everywhere, he added.
This year, World Quds Day has had a special and different effect all over the world because in the last few months, the world has been witness to the most terrible scenes of occupation, genocide, war crimes and brutality from Zionist regime targeting women and children, hospitals, historical and religious places in Gaza. Equally, it has seen the painful siege and suffering of the helpless people through deliberate starvation and cutting off of access to food, medicine, water, fuel, electricity and other needs; the widespread destruction of houses and shelters, and the attack on the places where the refugees gather surviving in the worst human conditions due to forced migration.
Paying his tributes to the martyrs in the liberation struggle for Palestine, he highlighted the sacrifices made by hundreds of journalists, medical and aid workers who were massacred alongside the helpless women and children of Palestine in current genocide by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza strip.
The envoy of Islamic Republic of Iran highly commended the State of Qatar and those handful of countries that have reached out to send humanitarian aid for the people in Gaza strip in present severe situation.
HE Dr Ali Salehabadi stressed on the need to find a logical just and final solution based on democratic values and the realisation of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people.
He pointed out that the occupation regime of Al-Quds, regardless of all basic humanitarian and legal rules, like its other crimes in Palestine, targeted the building of the Iranian consulate in Syria and martyred a number of his country’s senior military commanders.
Condemning the Zionist regime, he said that such actions and public violation of international laws show that now is the time for the whole world to try this regime in international courts and to prevent it from escaping punishment.
He laid stress on the need for the world body to use all its resources to stop this human disaster and do more to send humanitarian aid to Gaza as soon as possible for the reconstruction of this area.
He concluded his address on his sincere wishes for peace and security throughout the whole world, and prayed for the continuation of human values in the body of humanity.
