Qatar Charity (QC), in partnership with Pakistan Welfare Forum (PWF), organised a fund-raising event for the Pakistani community in Qatar.

The event commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran by Qari Rahimuddin. Jamshaid Shahzad Bajwa presented a heart-touching naat. National anthems of Qatar and Pakistan were played on the occasion. Anwar Ali Rana compered the event.

Khalid Fakhroo of Qatar Charity was the guest of honour on the occasion while Community Welfare Attaché at the Pakistan Embassy Waheedullah Khan Wazir was the chief guest.

A large number of professionals, businessmen, and philanthropists from the Pakistani community participated in the event.

Welcoming the gathering, Mohammad Israr Malazai, member of PWF Founding Executive Committee (FEC), said that PWF in cooperation with QC is engaged in welfare activities and implements a range of projects for the benefit of low-income families and workers throughout the year. “I would earnestly request my compatriots to come forward and strengthen our hands in carrying out welfare activities for needy Pakistanis,” noted Malazai.

Khalid Sajjad Bhatti, president of PWF, highlighted the activities of his forum and explained the role of different sub-committees engaged in welfare activities. He thanked the participants, volunteers, and community members in making the event a big success. “I would also like to thank PWF Founding Executive Committee members and Steering Committee members for their active support and guidance in organising this event,” remarked Bhatti.

Riyaz Ahmed Bakali, member of FEC, briefed the gathering about the aims and objectives of PWF which is making notable contribution towards education, social welfare, and medical and legal needs of low-income segments of the Pakistani community residing in Qatar.

QC and PWF joined hands for the welfare of Pakistani expatriates in 2018. This strategic partnership complements the efforts of the two organisations which seek to contribute significantly to meeting the social, education, and medical needs of low-income community members.

Ahmad Hussain appreciated QC for their tremendous support and cooperation to become partner of PWF in carrying out various initiatives to provide opportunities to those who value social responsibility and want to pay back to society to uplift the deprived segments of the communities through education. PWF’s flagship education programme, he noted, is for children who are out of school due to social, economic, cultural or any other reasons. He said these efforts have led to establishing five Assalam schools in partnership with Education Above All Foundation, Qatar Charity, Ministry of Awqaf, and the Ministry of Education.

Thanking community members for attending the event, Chaudhary Parvez Iqbal, FEC member, quoted various verses from the Holy Quran and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for giving special care to the less-privileged and destitute families through donations. He urged the participants to come forward and help their compatriots in need.

Speaking on the occasion, Fakhroo hoped that ongoing relations between QC and PWF would be strengthened and enlarged in the coming months for carrying out various welfare projects for deserving Pakistani families in Qatar.

Wazir appreciated Pakistani community members for their wholehearted participation in various PWF programmes helping the deserving community members.

Prominent Pakistani businessman Fawad Rana appreciated the efforts of PWF officials for organising an event aimed at helping community members in distress.

Chaudhary Mohammad Ajmal proposed the vote of thanks and outlined PWF’s achievements in various welfare programmes for destitute families. He appreciated the support of the Pakistani community noting that the strength of PWF lies in unprecedented participation of Pakistani fora and associations.
