DOHA: The locations of Iftar tents affiliated with the General Administration of Endowments in the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs are witnessing a large turnout of fasting people. The tents are distributed this year in several areas of the country with a high concentration of workers, and thousands of fasting people break their fast at their tables every day, through the project Iftar Fasting Endowment, one of the projects of the Endowment Bank. For righteousness and piety, and the contribution of philanthropists, this year aims to break the fast for more than 700,000 fasting people throughout the holy month through tent sites and meal distribution sites.

The Fasting Iftar Project is one of the humanitarian initiatives of the General Administration of Endowments, which aims to strengthen community partnership and serve the segments of society during the holy month to fulfill the conditions of the honourable donors and fulfil the slogan “Waqf is a community partnership,” and to assist those fasting in the blessed month of Ramadan by providing a healthy and varied breakfast to guests who... They are on breakfast tables.

The General Administration of Endowments was keen to raise awareness and guide this important segment of society, including workers and individuals, during their daily gathering in tents to break the fast throughout the holy month, through cooperation with the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, which through its preachers is keen to provide an effective role in promoting religious awareness and educating members of different communities on good etiquette and morals, as well as on the provisions of Islam, especially the provisions that revolve around the jurisprudence of fasting during the blessed month of Ramadan.

In this context, the centre’s preachers provide awareness and guidance words to the fasting people who are present in the Iftar tents. An awareness lecture throughout the month in all tents, to spread virtues and etiquette and clarify the rulings on fasting and its spiritual and health benefits, in addition to answering their questions about fasting and what is related to its rulings and other questions that properly enhance their religious culture according to a moderate approach, in addition to the preachers participating with them in collective iftar in tents, where hundreds of fasting people from different nationalities gather to break their fast in tents in one place, which enhances their feeling of brotherhood and interconnectedness.

The contents of the educational speeches presented by the Center’s preachers vary approximately one hour before the Maghrib call to prayer, as they address multiple topics related to etiquette and good morals that a Muslim must have, the provisions and conditions of fasting, the importance of fasting in strengthening the relationship with God and purifying the soul, and how to make the most of this month. Moreover, preachers are keen to clarify the jurisprudential and legal issues related to fasting, easily and clearly in the Urdu language to suit the understanding of all categories of workers who break their fast in tents, and then words of awareness and guidance contribute to deepening the correct understanding of the provisions of fasting and motivating workers and individuals to adhere. With the teachings of the Islamic religion in this holy month, guiding and educating them about fasting correctly and taking advantage of these virtuous days in reading the Holy Quran, doing good deeds, drawing closer to God through obedience, preserving prayers on time in the congregation, being careful to perform Tarawih prayers and standing in prayer, and supplicating to God with supplications.

The General Administration of Endowments thanked the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center and the centre’s advocates for their cooperation in the religious awareness and guidance program for workers breaking the fast in iftar tents, stressing that this fruitful cooperation contributes greatly to spreading religious awareness and Islamic culture among the workers’ category.
