DOHA: Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater has charged that Israeli occupation forces are continuing to obstruct the delivery of aid to Gaza.

Al Khater who visited Egypt’s Rafah crossing to monitor the entry of aid said, “Despite the recent Security Council decision to cease-fire in Gaza and to implement aid, and despite the great efforts of several international institutions and the Egyptian Red Crescent, the occupation forces continue to create obstacles to obstruct the entry of aid.”

In a social media post on Friday, she said: “We were at the Rafah crossing to monitor the entry of aid and to confirm that Gaza, its people, and the Palestinians are in [our] heart, and in continuation of the duty to support the brotherly Palestinian people, who have rights and who defend the dignity and sanctities of this nation.”

She charged that the occupation forces are “facilitating settler demonstrations at the Kerem Shalom crossing so that trucks cannot pass” and continuing the “policy of intimidation of people and relief workers”.

She said: “We were seeing smoke as a result of the bombing close to the crossing, no more than 1.5 kilometres away, in addition to the horrific crime committed by the occupation a few days ago by killing 7 relief workers, 6 of whom were citizens of foreign countries.”

She added that the occupation forces are “not opening the rest of the ports and imposing a military siege to prevent aid from reaching the northern regions [of the Gaza Strip]”.

Al Khater also made a passionate plea to “governments, individuals, institutions and the private sector to make every effort” to force a ceasefire in Gaza.

“Palestine and the war on Gaza are not just seasonal situations, but it is an established principle. We hope that we and you will not be among those who live for a long time and forget, nor among those whose resurrection God hated and discouraged them, but that we are among those who were true to the covenant…”
