Keeping up with its tradition of engaging children in religious and literary activities, Sohni Dharti Qatar organised a soulful Faizan-e-Ramadan and Pakistan Day event at Al-Waha Club.
More than 80 children participated in different competitions in the programme that was also conducted by children. The event was hosted by Abdullah Aaban, Musaddiq Atif, Azaan Danish, Sadia Danish, Musfira Binte Mujtaba, Yahya Wajahat and Muhammad Ayan.
Sohni Dharti Chairman Rana Anwar Ali welcomed the audience.
The event featured a competition for recitation of Holy Quran in three various age groups. The winners in the different age groups included Surah Al Kausar (5-7 years ),Surah Al Qadr (8-11) andSurah Al Baqarah (12-16). The best recitation was awarded trophies and cash prizes. The judges included Arshad Hussain Hashmi, Khalid Sajjad Bhatti, Malik Muhammad Waqas, Shahida Khan and Atiq Ur Rasheed.
Muhammad Wali Khayyam secured first position while Muhammad Qasim Waqar and Muhammad Mohtashim Shafqat came second and third, respectively in 5-7 years age category.
Syed Amna Wajahat, Usman Salman and Hamnah Khalid secured first, second, and third positions, respectively in the age group of 8-11 years.
Syed Hamza Wajahat, Yahya Wajahat and Saifiullah were placed first, second and third, respectively in 12-16 years category.
Muhammad Affan Rizwan delivered a speech in Urdu language on the subject of Seerat Un Nabi. The lead of Sohni Dharti Future Leader Programme Umar Khayyam prepared all the children and provided them the content in Urdu.
Sohni Dharti volunteers Benish Anwar, Romana Mujtaba, Kiran Mumtaz prepared different tableaux on the theme of Ramadan and Pakistan National Day.
A tableau showcasing how social media apps Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok and online gaming distract the attention of worshippers in the Holy month of Ramadan, was well received by the audience.
Children also presented all-time famous qawwali Tu Kuja Man Kuja.
A cake cutting ceremony was carried out to celebrate Pakistan Day. Chief guest Waheedullah Khan Wazir, Community Welfare Attaché, and Ch Muhammad Ajmal, a senior community member, congratulated Sohni Dharti Excom for organising such a wonderful event.
Sohni Dharti Chairman Anwar Ali Rana appreciated the passion of the children. “This forum will continue to hold such programmes in future as well,” hr said, while thanking the children and their parents, volunteer ladies and SD executive committee for making the event a big success.
Rao Inam ul Haq, Mujtaba Balloch, Zafar Chandio, Mohsin Ali, Muhammad Abid, and Ghulam Fareed played an active role in managing the show. The event concluded with a special iftar dinner.
