DOHA: The total number of inbound visitors reached about 596,000, recording a monthly decrease of 15.2 percent(compared to January 2024) but recorded an annual increase of 53.1 percent(compared to February 2023).
Data published in the new issue of Qatar: Monthly Statistics bulletin issued by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) on Tuesday showed that the highest number of visitors was from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at 42 percent. As for visitors by type of port, visitors via air make up the highest percentage with 48 percentof the total number of visitors.
Traffic accident cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 754 traffic cases were recorded during February 2024, showing a monthly decrease of 10.6 percentand an annual increase of 12.9 percent. Light injuries accounted for most traffic accident cases during the same month, with 95 percent, followed by severe injuries at 4 percent. However, 12 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 1 percentof total traffic accident cases.
Regarding Vital Statistics, 2,469 live births have been registered during February 2024. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 1.7 percentcompared to last month. On the other hand, 206 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 14.2 percentcompared to January 2024.
Moreover, February 2024 witnessed a monthly increase of 11.7 percent, and 11.3 percentin total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates respectively. The total number of marriage contracts reached 439 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 157 cases.
As for the Social Security statements, they reached QR78mnin February 2024, for 14,385 beneficiaries, recording a monthly decrease of 2.9 percent for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.2 percentfor the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.
As for the Banking Sector,total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR747bnduring February 2024, an annual increase of 6.5 percentcompared with February 2023. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR1,029bnduring February 2024. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 8.3 percentcompared to February 2023, when deposits recorded approximately QR950bn.
Regarding the data of building permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 689 permits during February 2024, recording a monthly decrease of 10.6 percentand an annual increase of 7.0 percent.
