Four-time Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel tested for Porsche on Tuesday in Spain as the German carmaker gears up for the Le Mans 24-hour.

Vettel completed 118 laps over 581 kilometres at the at MotorLand Aragon.

“Driving the Porsche 963 on the track here in Aragon was definitely a lot of fun. I first had to get used to everything and find my rhythm.

The driving experience is different simply because of the roof over your head, as is dealing with the higher weight and the tyres,” Vettel said after his outing.

Speculation is increasing that Vettel may race in the iconic French race this year and return to F1 at some point, with Germany’s Audi taking over Sauber. He left F1 in 2022 after racing for Aston Martin.

However, there are no concrete plans yet for Vettel and Porsche beyond the test.

“We’ll see what happens after that - at the moment there are no further plans for the future,” Vettel had previously said.
