DOHA: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and reduced visibility along the coast and at sea. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures and stay updated on weather forecasts.

According to the latest bulletin from the Meteorological Department, the coastal areas and sea are expected to experience thunderstorms along with strong winds and low horizontal visibility. The weather is forecasted to be cloudy intermittently, with scattered thunderstorms in certain regions. Additionally, dust is expected to prevail later in the day.

Winds along the coast and at sea are anticipated to be southeasterly to northeasterly, with speeds ranging between 12 and 22 knots initially on the coast. However, with thundery rain, wind speeds could escalate to 35 knots, later shifting to northwesterly to northerly at speeds ranging between 18 and 25 knots by the afternoon. Similarly, at sea, wind speeds are expected to range between 18 and 25 knots, possibly reaching up to 45 knots during thundery rain, before subsiding to northwesterly speeds ranging between 18 and 25 knots by the evening.

Horizontal visibility along the coast is projected to be between 3 and 6 kilometers, dropping to one kilometer or less in certain areas during thunderstorms. At sea, visibility is estimated to be between 3 and 7 kilometers, plummeting to one kilometer or less during thunderstorms.

Furthermore, wave heights are anticipated to range between 3 and 5 feet along the coast and between 7 and 10 feet at sea, rising up to 13 feet during thunderstorms.

In Doha, the highest expected temperature for the day is 27 degrees Celsius. Residents and individuals planning maritime activities are advised to exercise caution and stay informed about the changing weather conditions.
