DOHA: The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding the weather conditions expected in Qatar for Wednesday, cautioning residents and sea-goers about the possibility of thundery rain and strong winds.

In its daily weather report, the Department of Meteorology highlighted that the weather inshore is likely to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times, with a chance of scattered rain. There is a possibility of thundery rain at first, accompanied by blowing dust intermittently. Residents are advised to be cautious as the conditions may lead to poor visibility in some areas.

Offshore conditions are expected to mirror those inshore, with the possibility of thundery rain at first. The report further warns of strong winds and high seas, urging caution for maritime activities.

According to the report, wind speeds inshore are forecasted to be northwesterly to northeasterly, ranging between 10 to 20 KT, with gusts reaching up to 26 KT at times. Offshore, similar wind patterns are anticipated, with gusts reaching up to 25 KT.

Visibility is expected to be reduced to 4 - 8 km or less at times, both inshore and offshore. Additionally, sea conditions are predicted to be moderate to rough, with sea states ranging from 2 - 4 ft inshore, escalating to 5 ft at times, and 3 - 6 ft offshore, rising to 8 ft intermittently.

Residents and those planning maritime activities are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
