Barwa Bank has announced the names of the February draw winners for Thara'a, its Shari'ah compliant savings account, at the bank's headquarters in Doha, a press statement said on Monday.
Customers Khalifa Saeed al Maari and Abdelrahman Fikry Ahmad, each won a cash prize of QR 10,000.
A cash prize worth QR5,000 was awarded to the following bank clients: Mohamed Ali Saheb, Jamal Abdu al Ammari, Ahmad Mohsin Qahtani, Abdulaziz Yousef Ali, Maha Alselwi, Zaher Tannir, Khaled Mehsin al Adba, Rashid Hamad al Yafei, Mohammed Talib al Marri, Ahmad Abdulla al Kuwari, Jabor Ali al Attiya, Aisha Ali Abualshwarib, Sultan Essa al Humaidi, Aljawhara Yousuf al Ali, Noora Mohammed al Baker, Ali Mahmoud Abualainin, Mohd Ali al Braid, Omar Hanadi, Basma Mohamed, Fatma Abdulla al Heidous and Amel Mohd Alyafei.
The draw was conducted under the supervision of a representative of the Qualitative Licence and Market Control Department at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the statement said.
Thara'a offers account holders the chance to benefit from cash rewards up to QR1 million, a first for Islamic banks in Qatar.
Based on several criteria, Thara'a account holders are eligible for a number of periodic draws for cash prizes totalling QR3.3 million.
Thara'a cash rewards are distributed on both monthly and biannual basis to customers holding a minimum balance of QR10,000.
On a monthly basis, there are 21 winners per draw for the cash prize of QR5,000, as well as two winners per draw for the cash prize of QR10,000.
Additionally, twice-a-year there are two winners per draw for the cash prize of QR25,000, two winners per draw for the cash prize of QR50,000 and one winner per draw for the grand prize of QR1 million, rewarding 194 winners in total with cash prizes up to QR3.3 million.
Coupled with cash prizes and a reward scheme, Thara'a is a product full of value-added benefits and services. Thara'a offers account holders access to Barwa Bank's innovative banking channels, with benefits including unlimited withdrawals and deposits, as well as free fund transfers across their accounts and through all Barwa Bank channels.
