The finals of the first edition of the girls’ and women’s basketball league for 2023-2024 season, organized by the Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF), will be held on Friday at the federation’s hall.

The girls’ league final match will bring together Sport Lab and Hoops North teams at 4.30pm.

Seven teams participated in the girls’ league competitions: Amna Bint Wahab School, Pro Sport, Fame Sports Academy, Hoops North, Al Multaqa, Recreation Center, and Sports Laboratory, and the competitions were held in two stages with one group.

The women’s league final will see Al Gharafa Club and Hops Al Shamal clash for the title at 6pm.

The first edition of the QBA Women’s League witnessed the participation of six teams: Al Gharafa, Al Arabi, Hops Al Shamal, Black Ravens, Pro Sport, and Qatar Foundation Forum. The league competitions were held in three stages with one group comprising six teams.

The women’s league competitions came within the framework of the plan developed by QBF to support the women’s game, especially since there are many upcoming participations and competitions that require a lot of attention.

The women’s basketball tournaments come in coordination with the Women’s Committee with the ambition of forming a strong women’s team capable of competing in international tournaments, by attracting the best female players to include them in the ranks of the national teams in addition to working to develop the women’s game in general.

Through this league, QBF aims to encourage Qatari girls to participate and excel in sports to benefit from them in building strong teams for women and girls, which contributes to the advancement of Qatari society as a whole, stated a release.
