DOHA: CEO of Web Summit Qatar 2024, Catherine Maher, has said that Qatar has the potential to be a successful hub for tech startups and big companies, thanks to its outstanding digital infrastructure and policies that support investment and facilitate the company establishment procedures.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Maher lauded Qatar's tremendous effort, investments and ideas that have made it a destination for investment and entrepreneurship, highlighting Doha's position as a point of contact between the Middle East and the rest of the world.

The Summit brought together more than 15,000 participants from 118 countries, and over a thousand startups, she added, hailing the Summit as a truly international event based in Qatar.

Qatar has attracted many large tech companies and investors, and has played an important role in hosting servers and cloud operations, she added, praising Qatar's possession of the most advanced aspects of the technology industry including highly skilled workers, excellent visa policies, and wonderful communications infrastructure, particularly about airports.

Maher commended Qatar's many programmes that grant opportunities to support entrepreneurs and investors to enhance the business environment.
