The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with Q Auto, Qatar’s Volkswagen dealership, has announced the recall of Volkswagen Passat, models of 2008-2010, over deterioration of front air bag propellant due to humidity, which may lead to burst of the gas generator housing causing injuries to the passengers.

The ministry, in cooperation with United Cars Almana, Qatar’s Dodge dealership, has also recalled Dodge Ram 5500 model of 2024, as an inadvertent turn signal activation may cause surrounding drivers to misunderstand the intent to change vehicle direction.

Besides, the MoCI, in cooperation with Protech Powered Sports Co., Qatar’s Polaris dealership, has recalled Polaris RZR 200, 2021-2024 models, as a possible defect in the steering rack that may result in loss of vehicle steering control.

The ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that dealers follow up on defects and withdrawals.

The ministry said it would coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the recall campaign and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary actions are carried out.

The ministry has urged all customers to report any violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department, which processes complaints, inquiries and suggestions through the following channels:Call Center: 16001; Email: [email protected]; social media channels: @mociqatar; or mobile application: MOCIQatar.
