Katara Hospitality, a leading global hotel owner, developer, and operator based in Qatar, is extending its collaboration with the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) to introduce exclusive privileges to Himyan Card holders across its affiliated properties in Qatar. The initiative aims to promote and boost the tourism sector and local economy.

As part of the initiative, known as the “Himyan Package”, Katara Hospitality is extending discounts across all its local establishments including The Ritz-Carlton, Doha; Sheraton Grand Doha; Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel; Al Messila Resort, a Luxury Collection Spa Resort, Doha; Gulf Rixos Doha Hotel; Raffles Doha Hotel; Fairmont Doha Hotel; Salwa Beach Resort and Villas managed by Hilton; Sealine Beach Resort, a Murwab Resort; Simaisma, a Murwab Resort; Jouri, a Murwab Hotel; Somerset West Bay Doha; Mövenpick Hotel Doha; and Al Dana Club.

Exclusive privileges include a 20% discount at affiliated hotels’ food outlets, spa services, and on entry to Desert Falls at Salwa Beach Resort. Terms and conditions apply including discounts being applicable only at restaurants associated with Katara Hospitality hotels and excluding group, corporate, or social events.

The “Himyan” package, aligns with the QCB efforts to enhance electronic payment services and financial security within the country. The card’s name is derived from the money pouches once used by merchants. As the first payment card bearing a Qatari brand, the Himyan Card is being introduced to the local market in phases, initially targeting all demographics, including minors, and can be obtained directly from the respective bank designated for issuance.Its issuance guarantees enhanced safety, as all transactions will be processed locally through established networks, ATMs, and online platforms.

A key objective of the Himyan Card is to boost domestic tourism in Qatar while offering exclusive benefits to guests staying at Katara Hospitality’s hotels. It is poised to become integral to the hospitality experience at Katara Hospitality’s properties nationwide, with the hotel brand anticipating the card to raise awareness of the country’s rich cultural and tourism heritage, as well as positively contribute to the tourism sector and local economy.

The Himyan package announcement comes in line with Katara Hospitality’s efforts to contribute to Qatar’s rich history, cultural heritage, and sporting achievements, underscoring the nation’s distinguished position on the global stage.
