DOHA: In its daily weather report, the Department of Meteorology has raised alarms about impending adverse weather conditions in the region until 6pm on Friday.

Residents can expect scattered clouds, with a potential for light rain initially and the presence of slight to blowing dust in various areas during the daytime. Nighttime temperatures are anticipated to be cold.

The meteorological report highlights the likelihood of strong winds and poor horizontal visibility at specific locations.

Offshore weather conditions are predicted to be partly cloudy with a chance of light rain initially and a slight dustiness. The report further cautions against strong winds and high sea conditions in offshore areas.

Inshore, the wind is expected to be northwesterly, reaching speeds of 16 to 25 knots, occasionally gusting to 35. Offshore regions will experience mainly northwesterly winds at a speed of 15 to 25 knots, with gusts reaching up to 38 at times.

Visibility inshore is estimated to be 4 to 9km or less in certain areas initially, while offshore visibility is predicted to range from 4 to 8km.

Inshore sea state conditions will vary from 1 to 5 feet, while offshore regions can expect sea states ranging from 4 to 8 feet, with occasional rises to 12 feet.

Residents and maritime communities are strongly advised to exercise caution and stay updated on the evolving weather conditions, especially in light of the warnings regarding strong winds, reduced visibility, and heightened sea states. Precautionary measures are recommended to ensure public safety during this period.
